Duties and
Responsibilities:
Histologists are
also referred to as Histotechnologist. Their job is to determine if a patient
has a disease, dysfunction, or malignancy. What they do for work is they mount
little thin slices and put them under a microscope to inspect the structures. Histologist
performs more complex and advanced procedures than technicians and often also
performs management. Histology specialist work in pharmacy, hospitals, veterinary,
pharmacy, or research laboratories.

$35,000 (Histologic technicians)
$30,000 - $50,000 (Histologists)
$30,000 - $50,000 (Histologists)
Educational Requirements: Students should take the most challenging high school courses in
science, math, and English. To become a histologist student must either earn a bachelor’s
degree that includes one year clinical internship or complete a long-term training
program. Also they must pass a national examination.
